Tropical Green Smoothie

This green smoothie is not only super healthy, but it tastes amazing. When healthy meets delicious, Foodies rejoice!

Green smoothies are super foods at their finest. With the right mixture and amounts of fruits and vegetables, you end up with a smooth delicious meal that will not only delight your taste buds, but will make you feel full. This smoothie is so healthy that you’ll even fill less guilty for devouring that big plate of brown butter brownies the night before.

Before I started this food blog, I sometimes posted my green smoothie recipes to Facebook. My friends would comment on how good they sounded and that they had never thought of those combinations. I don’t think I’ve ever gone to the store to specifically buy ingredients for my smoothies. I always just throw in what I have on hand. I’ve made enough green smoothies (683 according to my Blendtec) that I know what combinations will taste really good. Let me tell you, this tropical green smoothie will knock your socks off.

It is so sweet and delicious. The flavors will make you feel like you’re sitting on a warm beach on the north shore of Oahu. I particularly love my green smoothies because. I don’t want to feel like I have to eat a big salad to get my raw dark greens. Just blend one of these bad boys up and then feel less guilty. If I want to have a naughty bowl of mac ‘n cheese for dinner.

I prefer my smoothies to have a bit of chew. What on earth does that mean, you might be asking? Well, I don’t like to chew my greens or my fruit, but I will often add something else to the smoothie to give it texture. In this case, I added unsweetened coconut flakes. They added just enough texture to make me want to chew as they went down and that makes me feel like I’m eating a meal as opposed to drinking a drink. Food for thought.

If you have kids and think they won’t love green smoothies, all they have to do is taste it and they’ll love it. My foodie-in-training kids are fantastic eaters. So much so that they make all the other moms jealous. The fact that my kids not only love to eat, but value healthy good quality food makes me super duper proud. If you have a picky kid who won’t even try something like this because its green, just stick a fun straw in it and watch them go to town. Problem solved.
