- 3 medium-sized Russet potatoes peeled
- 1 large onion sliced thinly
- Salt and pepper to taste
Optional:
- 1/2 tsp 2 g of garlic powder
- 1 tsp 2 g of red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp 3 g of chopped chives (to be added after cooking)
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a sauté pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Slice the onions and potatoes into 1/4 inch thick pieces.
- Carefully add the sliced potatoes and onions to the hot oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Add the garlic powder and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Cook, stirring frequently, until the potatoes and onions are browned and tender, about 10-15 minutes. Covering the skillet during cooking can help to achieve a creamier texture.
- Transfer the cooked potatoes and onions to a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil.
- Sprinkle the chopped chives on top and serve.
