Lemon pepper chicken

Lemon pepper chicken is one of those recipes that it is so simple it is almost hard to mess it up. It can also be a healthy part of a meal if done correctly and that is what you will be doing today. Making a good and easy meal does not mean that you have to lose flavor.

Do not confuse easy with a lack of preparation though because marinating is essential to get the best results and that does not mean to leave it in the fridge for 20 minutes. The right marinating must be done for at least two hours. Once that is done however, dinner will be much easier and with better taste

A couple of tips for this recipe are to serve with steamed vegetables. The combination makes for a healthy meal and the flavors complement each other. Also, there are some that would suggest throwing away the marinade after refrigerating the chicken but the whole idea of a marinade is to give the dish a particular flavor.

Before using it, taste the marinade and if you like it then you can also let the chicken breasts cook in it. This will make the breasts a lot more moist and flavorful; the decision on the marinade is completely up to you and your preference. Another thing to note is that every time you cook chicken it is important for the skillet to be hot already, so always place the skillet on the stove and let it heat for at least two minutes. After that you should be ready to cook some of the best chicken you ever tried.

Ingredients –

  • 1 minced garlic Clove
  • 2 tspns. Lemon pepper seasoning
  • ½ a teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 tbspn. of olive oil
  • ½ a lemon juiced
  • ½ a tspn. of salt
  • ½ a tspn. of dried oregano
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Lemon wedges for garnish

Lemon Pepper Chicken Recipe Preparation:

First thing you have to do is make the marinade and to do that you combine all the ingredients minus the chicken in a large bowl.

Once all ingredients are mixed and the marinade is ready, coat the chicken with the marinade by turning it.

Using a meat mallet beat the chicken breasts until they are about the same thickness. You should place the chicken between two pieces of plastic to get better results.

Once that is done place the two pieces of chicken in a freezer bag and pour the marinade in. Shake the bag to ensure that the marinade coats both chicken breasts completely and place in a plate to avoid spilling. Place the plate with the chicken breasts in the fridge for at least two hours to let it marinate.

After the two hours take the chicken out of the bag and place it on an already hot skillet for about three to four minutes on each side until it is cooked. You do not need the marinade however if you want the chicken to have a little extra moisture you can pour the marinade on the skillet and let the chicken cook in the marinade.

Garnish the chicken with lemon wedges and serve with a side dish of choice.
